  • 1975 – On April 30, I left Vietnam alone as a refugee. I was sponsored by Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York.
  • 1977 – Transferred from EBI to Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon.
  • 1978 – Served as Assistant Pastor to Rev. Nguyễn Văn Độ at the Vietnamese Evangelical Church of Portland.
  • 1979 – Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Warner Pacific College.
  • 1982 – Ordained as a Minister of the Gospel by the Vietnamese District of The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA), USA.
  • 1983 – Earned a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in Portland, Oregon.
  • 1984 – Married Phan Bích-Vân.
  • 1986 – Moved to Canada and began serving as Pastor of the Vietnamese Alliance Church of Edmonton, Alberta—a role I’ve held for 39 years as of April 30, 2025.
  • 1995 – Received a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina, Saskatchewan.
  • 2000–2008 – Served as Director of the Vietnamese Canadian Alliance Churches (AVAC).
  • 2006–2012 – Served as Director of the Worldwide Association of Vietnamese Alliance Churches (WAVAC).
  • 2013 – Earned a Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.) from Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon.
  • 2014 – Co-authored and published Mobilizing Vietnamese Diaspora for the Kingdom with Dr. Enoch Wan, Ph.D., through the Institute of Diaspora Studies, Western Seminary.
  • 2016–2018 – Appointed part-time missionary with SEND International of Canada for short-term mission work.
  • 2022 – Received the Presidential Citation Award and was honored as a speaker at the 95th Commencement of Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon.
